Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at info@sahga.org if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Absolutely! We love well-mannered dogs, as long as they are under control and on a leash at all times. Your dog doesn't even have to be Scottish to attend. Also, please be courteous to your fellow patrons and pick up after your dog.

No, but you might look kind of funny as the only man in pants. If you don't have a kilt yet and you'd like to purchase one, we will have several kilt vendors at the Games who can outfit you in Highland wear.

Although we're not a Renaissance festival, we don't discriminate against those who love to dress in costume. Please just ensure that your choice of clothing, costume or not, is family friendly.

Add an answer to this ite Aye, indeed it will! The San Antonio Highland Games & Celtic Music Festival is a rain or shine event—just like a true day in the Highlands of Scotland! A wee bit of drizzle won’t stop the caber from flying or the bagpipes from singing.

That said, your safety is our top priority. Should the Texas skies decide to throw more than a moody mist our way (we're lookin’ at you, thunderstorms), we have shelter-in-place protocols ready to keep everyone safe and sound until the weather passes.

So grab your wellies, don your kilt with pride, and come dance with us—rain or shine, the clan gathers!

 Saturday - 9am-7pm
Sunday - 11am-6pm

Most portions of our event are handicap accessible. The roads on the festival grounds have been paved and there are handicap accessible portable toilets available for use. Additionally, there is handicap parking available near the front entrance. These parking spaces are typically filled early in the festival day.

Areas such as the Living History encampment and the athletics field may be more difficult to access, as they are located in grassy areas; however, the areas are generally flat.

We do not allow our festival visitors to bring in food. Our food vendors have been carefully selected to offer a wide variety of foods, both traditional Scottish, and traditional festival food. We are certain that you will find something offered that is pleasing to your palette. Additionally, due to TABC regulations alcohol may never be brought into or taken out of the festival. We reserve the right to inspect all coolers and other carriers.

Unfortunately, at this time we are unable to accept credit cards to purchase tickets onsite. However, you are able to purchase your tickets in advance using a credit card. If you wish to buy tickets at the gate, please ensure that you have cash on hand, or utilize the ATM situated just outside the main entrance gate. Most vendors will accept credit cards; however, not all do.

We will have three ATMs available this year. One will be just outside the festival entrance and two will be situated on the grounds.

Children under 2 receive free admission to the festival.

Kids under 2 are free. Kids 2-12 are $8.

The senior discount is applied for anyone 65 and older.
